CERVICAL SMEARS

Normal smears are repeated every three years for patients in the 25-49-age bracket. Patients under the age of 25 are now no longer required to have a smear, unless clinically indicated. Patients in the age bracket of 50-64-years will have a smear every five years. Patients should receive a recall automatically, but if you have not had a smear during this period, please make an appointment. A letter will be sent to you when the result is available.

MINOR SURGERY

Some of the Doctors provide minor surgery services and can deal with small cysts and moles etc., either by removing them or freezing them with cryocautery equipment. All operations are performed in a comprehensively equipped treatment room.

CONTRACEPTIVE SERVICES

Most Doctors provide contraceptive advice in their normal surgery hours. In particular, Dr Coleman is qualified to fit the contraceptive implant and the Mirena (IUCD) coil that must be pre-booked in advance once relevant advice is given.

CHILDHOOD IMMUNISATIONS

vaccination10It is very important to ensure that all children are immunised correctly, and at the right time. It is only by this means that various serious, deadly or damaging diseases, such as tetanus and polio, can be prevented. A member of the Practice Health Team will discuss this with you and he/she, or the Practice Nurses, will immunise children, either by routine appointment, or at other times if asked to do so.
