Information:

Our standard opening hours are 8:30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. The phone lines are closed from 1pm to 2pm (for urgent calls then ring 111) but the surgery desk remains open during this period.

We also offer routine doctor only phone / video clinics on alternate Monday evenings and alternate Saturday mornings, for patients who find it difficult to access an appointment during our normal opening times. Patients should be aware that during these additional sessions, the surgery will not be open for any other business.

Urgent appointments

If you require urgent assistance for a medical emergency, please ring us and tell us as clearly as possible what the problem is. A doctor will often speak to you to assess the problem and, if necessary, the doctor will call as soon as is humanly possible

Routine appointments

To request a routine appointment in advance during opening times:

Online booking

All requests for new appointments are subject to telephone triage and requests for follow up nurse appointments that have been requested by a clinician may not require an additional phone appointment but will still need to be booked via our reception team by calling 01752 561305.

Calling the practice

By calling the practice, you may be able to:

  • Book a phone consultation with a GP or nurse that can be converted to a video consultation if clinically necessary or enhanced by securely sent photos (via email/texted link)
  • Receive a referral via our reception team to the community pharmacy service based at local pharmacies to treat minor illness
  • Receive a referral via our reception team to our partner Push Doctor service that offers video consultations with local South West GPs

Phone advice

If a patient needs to speak to a GP or nurse for medical advice, they can do so by phoning 01752 561305 where a receptionist will advise them when the clinician is available. Phone consultation appointments are available to book.

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Push Doctor

Do you need to see a doctor, but couldn’t get in this week? Do you need to speak to a doctor this weekend?

We can now offer phone/video consultation appointments in the evenings and weekends via Push Doctor. Push Doctor is a group of GPs who have access to our computer system so they can see your past medical history and prescriptions etc. they are able to treat you over the phone via phone/video.

To book an evening/weekend appointment with Push Doctor, you can either download the free app onto your smartphone or tablet, or register on the website by visiting www.pushdoctor.co.uk. Once you have registered you can book an appointment, and the doctor can even do a video consultation with you, they can send prescriptions to a local pharmacy for you, issue sick notes or make referrals to other healthcare professions should they need to.

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

If possible, please try to phone reception before 10:30am if you require a home visit.

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance. Home visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.
